Serves: 5
Preparation time: 15-20 minutes

INGRIDIENTS:
  • 2 small sized potato, boiled and diced
  • 1 tomato, sliced
  • 1/2 onion, sliced finely
  • 1 green chili, sliced
  • 400 g canned chickpeas
  • 500 g yogurt
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp chaat masala
Topping
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • water
  • 2 cups oil
  • ketchup (optional)
  • plum sauce (optional)

DIRECTIONS:
In a bowl throw potao, tomato, onion, green chili and chickpeas. Add yogurt, salt and chaat masala, and stir until ingridents are mixed well.

For topping
Pour flour into a small bowl and mix enough water to achieve a thin consistency. In a pot add oil and set fire to high. Once the oil is very hot, gradually spill flour mixture throughout the pot using a frying skimmer (creating small crispy "pakoras"). When the pakoras are golden brown, transfer to a paper towel to remove excess oil. Then sprinkle them on top of the potato and chickpea chaat. Finish by topping with either ketchup or plum sauce (aloo bukhara chutney). And you're ready to serve.
