Veggie Cheese Sauce Casserole Recipe


Prep time: 30 min
Serves: 5

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 l water
  • 2 medium size carrots, nicely diced
  • 1/3 cup frozen green piece
  • 1 medium size cauliflower, cut into chunks
  • 1/3 cup all purpose flour
  • 50 g butter
  • 3/4 tsp salt
  • black pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup grated cheese
  • 1/2 l milk
DIRECTIONS

For Veggies
In a pot filled with water throw cauliflower, carrot and green piece and bring to a boil. Once half cooked, drain and set aside.

For Cheese Sauce
Melt the butter in a pot and gradually add all purpose flour, salt and black pepper and stir occasionally for 1 minute. Pour milk and mix well. Add grated cheese and continue stirring until the sauce reaches a thick consistency. Turn off fire.

Baking
Transfer veggies to a baking dish and nicely pour cheese sauce on top. Sprinkle a bit of cheese and basil on top. Set oven 250 °C and bake for 15-20 minutes.
