Ginataan Squash & Shrimps Recipe

Ginataan squash and shrimps is a delicious Filipino dish made with shrimp and vegetable and it's
one of my favorites. As the name says, 'ginataan' refers to any dish cooked in coconut milk or coconut cream. Coconut milk is used in many Filipino recipes because it makes the dish richer and creamier. So, if you are a lover of squash and shrimps then this is a recipe that you should try.

INGREDIENTS:
  • 1 clove garlic (big), diced
  • 1 cm long ginger, sliced
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp ground black pepper
  • pinch aginomoto salt (Japanese salt)
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 cup powdered coconut milk
  • 40 g squash, diced
  • 5 ladyfingers, cut into half
  • 1 green chili
  • 150 g shrimps
DIRECTIONS:

In a pot put garlic, ginger, onion, salt, black pepper, aginomoto salt, water and coconut milk. Bring it to boil in high fire. Once boiled add the squash, ladyfingers and green chili. Stir for 2-3 minutes. Then add the shrimps and stir for another 5 minutes until soft. Turn the fire off and serve.
