Bananacue Recipe
Bananacue is one of the most popular street food
in the Philippines, they’re so easy and quick to make. For this recipe I
couldn't find Saba bananas which are commonly used for cooking in the
Philippines, so I used big plantain bananas and they came out totally
fine. So enough talking and here's the recipe. Enjoy!

Serves: 2
INGREDIENTS:
- 1 big plantain banana (sliced in 10 pieces)
- 1/3 cup white or brown sugar
- 1 cup cooking oil for frying
Heat a frying pan and pour-in cooking oil. When the oil is hot, deep fry the bananas for 2 minutes. Gradually put-in the sugar, adjust the heat to medium-low and continue cooking until the melted sugar coats the bananas. Gently stir the bananas so that they can get coated with melted brown sugar easily. Remove the cooked bananas one by one and skewer using a bamboo skewer. Let cool and serve!

Caramel Banana Spring Rolls
(Turon) Recipe
Popular as a street snack, they’re easy to make, and you can alter the filling as you desire. This time I kept it simple and used just tiny slices of plantain and sugar as filling.
(Turon) Recipe
Popular as a street snack, they’re easy to make, and you can alter the filling as you desire. This time I kept it simple and used just tiny slices of plantain and sugar as filling.
Cook: 5 min
Serves: 5
INGREDIENTS:
- 1 big plantain banana (sliced lengthwise)
- 5 spring roll wrappers
- 1-2 cups oil for frying
- 7 tbsp sugar
- water
DIRECTIONS:
Working with 1 spring roll wrapper at a time, place wrapper at an angle on a work surface so it forms a diamond shape. Place 2 slices of banana in a horizontal line on the bottom half of the wrapper and top with 1 tbsp sugar. Dip your fingers in water and run them along the edge of the wrapper to make them easier to fold. Then fold up the bottom corner over the filling to cover. Fold in the sides of the wrapper and roll up to enclose the filling, use a little more water to make the wrapper stick together.
