Healthy Cauliflower Pizza Crust | Ramadan Recipes

Here's an alternative pizza recipe for you guys. Super easy and super yummy, I'm not kidding!
You will be surprised by the taste and the goodness of this pizza 'cause it really doesn't taste like CAULIFLOWER! Seriously when my elder sister ate it she asked me: 'where's the cauliflower I can't see it?'

As my and my sister's first time making this pizza we really thought it will be a fail. But it turned out pretty good. The crust stayed  together and didn't fall apart, totally the kind you can pick up with your hands. It literally looked like a pizza and taste like one!

The main key for the success here is squeezing ALL the water from the cauliflower and that's it! I'm telling you, you will definitely not fail in making this if you follow all the directions below.

So, let's jump to the recipe!

PIZZA CRUST RECIPE

Prep time: 40 min
Serves: 2 to 4 people

INGREDIENTS:
  • 1 head cauliflower
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup water (or less)
  • 1/3 cup parmigiano reggiano, grated
  • 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese, grated
  • pinch cayenne
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp oregano, dried
  • 1 tsp basil, dried
  • 1 tbsp all purpose flour (optional)
DIRECTIONS:

Preheat oven to 400F, then start working in your crust. Cut the core of the cauliflower. Break out the cauliflower's florets and put them in your food processor. Process it until finely ground or until you have cauliflower "rice".

Trow the cauliflower rice into a sautè pan along with a splash of water and put it on medium-high heat for about 5-6 minutes. Add salt and stir occasionally.

Turn off heat and let it cool down.

Transfer cauliflower rice into the center of a clean napkin then gather up the corners and star squeezing really hard. SQUEEZE until ALL the water is out.

Transfer cauliflower into a mixing bowl and add the rest of the ingredients (cayenne, parmigiano reggiano, mozzarella, black pepper, egg, flour, dried oregano and basil). Mix well.

Press the dough out onto the center of a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Work it into a circle until it take the shape of a pizza.

Put it in preheat oven for about 30-35 minutes or until golden brown.

Remove and let cool. Then star building your pizza.

Add topping. In my case I used tomato sauce, oninon, salumi, diced mozzarella, parmigiano reggiano, and sprinkle of pepper flakes.

Return the pizza to the 400F oven, and bake an additional 7-10 minutes or until cheese bubbles.
Then slice and serve immediately!
