INGREDIENTS:
  • 550g beef mince
  • 1/2 onion
  • 1/2 green chili
  • 1/2 tbs chopped fresh coriander
  • 1 piece of sandwich bread
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp red chili
  • 1/2 tsp cumin powder (zeera)
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala
  • 1/4 cup oil
DIRECTIONS:
  1. In a blender put beef, onion, green chili, coriander, bread and egg; blend well.
  2. Transfer mixture to a large bowl and add remaining spices (red chili, cumin power, garam masala).
  3. Use your hands or a wooden paddle to mix the ingredients thoroughly till they are well blended.
  4. Soak bamboo skewers in water to prep for the kebabs.
  5. Divide the beef mixture into equal portions. Wet your hands and using your fingers, slowly spread each portion on the skewers to make kababs about 8-10cm long.
  6. Cook the kababs on a hot grill pan adding a little bit oil or barbeque for 3-4 minutes, then turn over and cook another 2-3 minutes.
  7. Rest the kebabs for a few of minutes then serve with mint chutney, salad leaves. Or serve in naan breads to make wraps.
